Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat of the Republic of Malta on the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Prime Minister Trudeau congratulated Prime Minister Muscat on his leadership in hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and thanked him for his hospitality.

Both leaders underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship, including the strong people-to-people ties that exist between the two countries, and their shared commitment to democratic values. They discussed bilateral, including trade and investment, as well as international issues such as migration. The leaders also discussed the protection of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered rights.
