Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today with Prime Minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom (UK) and Northern Ireland.

Prime Minister Trudeau offered his condolences for the Finsbury Park terrorist attack on June 19 and the Grenfell Tower fire on June 14 in North Kensington, London. 

The two leaders discussed regional issues in Europe and the Americas. They undertook to continue to work together on a range of issues including countering terrorism and combating climate change, including through the G7 and G20 summit processes.

The two leaders reaffirmed the excellent relationship that exists between Canada and the UK, reflecting deeply-held shared values.  They agreed to pursue a still more ambitious programme of bilateral cooperation.
