On the margins of his participation at the National Governors Association (NGA) Summer Meeting, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with Gina Raimondo, Governor of Rhode Island and host of this year’s Summer Meeting.

The Prime Minister thanked the Governor for welcoming Canada to Rhode Island and to the NGA Summer Meeting.

The Prime Minister and the Governor discussed a range of Canada-Rhode Island issues, including increasing opportunities for trade and investment, supporting innovation, and collaborating on the fight against climate change.    

Canada-Rhode Island bilateral trade was valued at US$932 million in 2016.
