Prime Minister Salam congratulated Prime Minister Trudeau on his election victory.

Prime Minister Trudeau reaffirmed Canada’s long-standing friendship with Lebanon and highlighted the strong people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Both leaders agreed to work together to support the resettlement of Lebanon-based Syrian refugees to Canada.

The prime ministers concluded by saying they would like to meet at the earliest opportunity.
