Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with Johann Schneider-Ammann, President of the Swiss Confederation on the margins of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.

Both leaders welcomed the strong relations that exist between our countries, and reiterated the importance of working together on international issues based on shared values.

The leaders also highlighted the strong commercial relations between their countries, including through the Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which is made up of Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. They also discussed the potential for expanding partnerships, including in the areas of innovation and technology.
