The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, met today with China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi.
 
The two discussed the growing linkages between Canada and China in the commercial, cultural and educational spheres. The Prime Minister emphasised the strength of the relationship and the potential as we work together on opportunities and challenges, including consular issues.
 
The Prime Minister welcomed the inaugural meeting of the Canada-China Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Dialogue held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Stéphane Dion and  Minister Wang hosted in Ottawa on June 1, 2016.  This new dialogue will further reinforce bilateral ties.
