Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.

The two leaders discussed the importance of countering violent extremism as key to regional and global security. Prime Minister Trudeau was also honoured to receive the Bangladeshi ‘Friends of Liberation War Honour’, on behalf of his late father Pierre Elliot Trudeau.

The two leaders looked forward strengthening bilateral relations and to their continued collaboration on issues of mutual concern.
