Prime Minister Trudeau met today with Luis Guillermo Solís, the President of Costa Rica.

The two leaders noted the strong relationship between the two countries and discussed issues of mutual interest, including gender equality, women's empowerment and climate change.

Prime Minister Trudeau and President Solís also discussed the crisis in Venezuela and reiterated their call on the Venezuelan government to restore the constitutional order and democracy. The leaders agreed to continue working with hemispheric partners to find a solution to the crisis.
