Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today by Skype with New Zealand’s Prime Minister-designate, Jacinda Ardern, to congratulate her on being asked to form the next Government of New Zealand.
The two leaders discussed multilateral trade issues and other subjects of common interest. Both are committed to promoting gender equality and to addressing climate change, among other issues, and they recognized the scope that exists to work closely together in pursuit of shared objectives.
The two leaders undertook to meet within the month.
