Today, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau met with Eric Garcetti, Mayor of the city of Los Angeles, during the Prime Minister’s visit to the city.‎

The Prime Minister and the Mayor discussed a range of Canada-Los Angeles issues, including the significance of the North American Free Trade Agreement to both economies, opportunities to increase investment and shared efforts to address climate change.

An estimated 150,000 Canadians live in Southern California - one of the United States’ largest populations of Canadian expatriates. Canada-California bilateral trade was valued at US$25.4 billion (2016) with over 1.2 million jobs in California dependent on trade and investment with Canada. Canada is California’s second largest export destination.
