
Today, Prime Minister Trudeau met with Mark Carney, Chair of the Financial Stability Board, on the margins of the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Dr. Carney welcomed the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Trade Agreement, signed this morning, and commended Canada's leadership on climate change and pollution pricing. Prime Minister Trudeau reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to the rules-based international system and to supporting the work of multilateral institutions in fostering economic growth that benefits everyone.
The two discussed a range of other topics including the Canadian economy and recent developments in global trade and the global economy. They also discussed the importance of helping small and medium-sized enterprises to scale up, ensuring that they are able to benefit from trade opportunities.
Prime Minister Trudeau thanked Dr. Carney for his important work as Chair of the Financial Stability Board.
