Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Prime Minister and the President discussed current global and geopolitical issues, including Hamas’ attack on Israel. The Prime Minister expressed his concern for the humanitarian impact of the conflict and reaffirmed Canada’s support for Israel’s right to defend itself, in accordance with international law, to protect the security of its citizens from terrorist attacks.

Prime Minister Trudeau provided an update on the situation between Canada and India.

The two leaders acknowledged the strong bilateral relationship between Canada and the UAE. The Prime Minister and the President agreed to continue working together on shared priorities and to remain in close contact.
