Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met today with Habib Essid, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tunisia on the margins of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.

Prime Minister Trudeau welcomed the significant steps taken by Tunisia to build a democratic and pluralistic society.

Prime Minister Trudeau also reiterated Canada’s support for Tunisia in the areas of security and economic development. Both leaders agreed on the need to maintain efforts in the fight against terrorism.
