The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the results of the provincial election in Manitoba:

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I offer my sincere congratulations to Brian Pallister and the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba on their electoral victory.

“We look forward to working with the new provincial government in a spirit of cooperation and collaboration on issues of importance to Manitobans and all Canadians.

“I also extend my heartfelt thanks to Greg Selinger for his contributions to the province and the country during his time as Premier, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
