The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today met with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang, for the second Annual Leaders’ Dialogue.

The leaders discussed the progress that has been made in the relationship over the past year and initiatives to further deepen bilateral ties. This included discussion of on-going exploratory trade talks. Furthermore, the two leaders agreed on the importance of clean growth and addressing climate change. The Prime Minister also raised consular cases of concern to Canada. The leaders discussed continuing efforts to improve the rule of law and human rights in their respective countries.
