Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand.

The two prime ministers discussed progressive trade, and the experiences that Canada and New Zealand can share in strengthening the middle class and preparing for jobs of the future. As well, they discussed economic development in the Caribbean and Small Island Developing States.

The leaders also exchanged views on international security challenges, including in Syria.

Prime Minister Trudeau praised the close relationship between Canada and New Zealand, who work closely together in many multilateral forums, including the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth will hold its summit later this week in London, which will be attended by both prime ministers.
