PM Trudeau sits in a meeting with the President of Latvia.

Today, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, met with Raimonds Vējonis, President of Latvia.  The leaders discussed issues of mutual interest including their commitment to regional defence and security, the upcoming NATO Summit and Canada’s contribution to NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence in Latvia.

Other issues of security were also discussed between the Prime Minister and the President including cyber security, hybrid warfare and foreign interference.

Prime Minister Trudeau underlined Canada’s positive bilateral relationship with Latvia and congratulated the President on Latvia’s Centenary, marking 100 years since becoming an independent state.
