Thomas Pitfield is an entrepreneur, technology executive, investor, and public policy advisor with expertise in artificial intelligence, digital strategy, data analytics, and innovation. His career has focused on the application of technology to public policy, democratic participation, and organisational decision-making.

Mr. Pitfield is the founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Data Sciences, a Canadian technology firm specialising in data analytics, digital engagement, research, and campaign strategy. He also worked as a consultant with IBM Canada, where he helped launch Canada’s first IBM Innovation Centre. He has been a long-time investor in Canada’s early-stage technology sector and is a co-founder of Canada 2020, an independent public policy think tank focused on innovation, economic growth, and Canada’s future competitiveness.

Mr. Pitfield served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Leader of the Government in the Senate, the Honourable Jack Austin. He subsequently served as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Mark Carney, advising on government priorities, including artificial intelligence, innovation, productivity, and Canada’s digital economy.
