“Today, Sikhs in Canada and around the world celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas, a sacred celebration honouring the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib, and his release from prison.

Bandi Chhor Divas brings families together in a spirit of faith, justice, generosity, and selfless service – values embodied by Sikh communities across Canada who strengthen our country every day. On behalf of the Government of Canada, I wish all those celebrating a joyous Bandi Chhor Divas.”
