Today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with the President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, on the margins of the 33rd African Union Summit.

The two leaders talked about the positive state of diplomatic relations between Canada and Botswana, underpinned by our Commonwealth ties. They spoke of shared values underscoring Botswana’s role internationally and within the region in promoting democracy.

The Prime Minister and President discussed ways to expand and diversify commercial relations in mining, energy, information and communication technology, and infrastructure.
