Water is Canada’s most precious natural resource. With 20 per cent of the world’s freshwater reserves, it is essential to our well-being and our economy. And as climate change and pollution increasingly threaten our waters, we must work together to keep it clean and healthy, now and into the future.

Today, the Independent Special Rapporteur, the Right Honourable David Johnston, released his first report. This report independently and impartially reaffirms that the 2019 and 2021 federal elections were free and fair. It should give Canadians continued confidence in the strength of our democracy.
Canada stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukraine as it defends itself in the face of Russia’s war of aggression, and we will continue to support the Ukrainian people for as long as it takes.
Today, at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reiterated that Canada condemns Russia’s brutal and unjustifiable war of aggression against Ukraine, its targeting of civilians, forcible deportation of children, seizure and exploitation of nuclear facilities in Ukraine, and use of nuclear rhetoric.

Since the signing of the Inuit Nunangat Declaration in 2017, the Government of Canada and Inuit leaders have continued to meet annually and work together through the Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee (ICPC) to advance our shared priorities, strengthen the Inuit-Crown partnership, and create a more prosperous Inuit Nunangat.
