The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for many Canadians, but people from coast to coast to coast have overcome adversity – they adapted and helped one another when it mattered most. The Government of Canada has been there for them since the beginning and will continue to be there every step of the way. The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today released new ministerial mandate letters to guide the Cabinet in moving Canada forward and building a better country for everyone.

Prime Minister announces changes to Cabinet committees

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced changes to the structure and mandate of Cabinet committees to reflect recent changes to the Ministry. The changes reflect the Government of Canada’s priorities, including finishing the fight against COVID-19, creating jobs and growing the middle class, walking the shared path of reconciliation, putting home ownership back in reach for everyone, and tackling climate change.

Prime Minister announces reappointment of Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism

Mr. Cotler was first appointed as Special Envoy on November 23, 2020, after a long career dedicated to fighting racism, antisemitism, and hate, including as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, a Parliamentarian, a recognized scholar, and an international human rights lawyer.

Prime Minister and Premier of British Columbia announce new committee to address extreme weather and climate resilience in the province

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and the Premier of British Columbia, John Horgan, today announced a committee of federal and provincial ministers who will work together and with Indigenous leadership to guide immediate and ongoing support to British Columbia families, businesses, and communities affected by the extreme weather events.
