Mr. Speaker, Between the outbreak of war in September 1939, and the Allied Victory in Europe on May 8, 1945, more than one million Canadians served in our country’s armed forces. More than 43,000 lives were lost.

Prime Minister’s remarks updating Canadians on the crash of a Canadian Armed Forces helicopter involved in Op REASSURANCE

Hello everyone. Yesterday, a Canadian Armed Forces helicopter on a NATO mission, carrying six members of the Canadian Armed Forces, went down with all hands in the Ionian Sea, off the coast of Greece. They were flying from the Canadian naval frigate HMCS Fredericton, home port of Halifax, as part of Operation REASSURANCE.
