Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Trudeau reached out to Premier Pallister to discuss the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Manitoba, the health care capacity in the province, and the outbreaks in personal care homes. Prime Minister Trudeau reiterated his commitment to helping Manitoba and all provinces and territories respond to the global COVID-19 pandemic and ensure economic recovery.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Pallister discussed federal support, through contact tracing and laboratory surge capacity, as well as rapid tests and the funding provided under the Safe Return to Class Fund.
The Prime Minister and the Premier agreed on the importance of continuing to work together to quickly address the situation in the province, and to protect the health and safety of Manitobans and all Canadians.
