Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Mayor of Winnipeg Brian Bowman to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister and the Mayor spoke about the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Winnipeg. Prime Minister Trudeau restated his commitment to helping municipalities, provinces, and territories respond to the global COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring economic recovery.
They discussed how the Government of Canada could work with municipalities, notably on increased testing capacity. Prime Minister Trudeau and Mayor Bowman also discussed infrastructure projects, notably funding for public transit, and addictions support.
The Prime Minister and the Mayor agreed on the importance of continuing to take action on these issues and of working together on the response to COVID-19, in order to protect the health and safety of the people of Winnipeg, and all Canadians.
