Mr. Speaker, There are times when we would all like to go back in time and change the course of history. We all wish December 6, 1989, was just another day at the École Polytechnique in Montréal.

Yesterday, we presented our government’s plan to support Canadians through the second wave of COVID-19, and rebuild a strong, resilient economy.

Today, Ontario released their highest number of daily COVID-19 cases ever. This week, Alberta saw their biggest cases ever, too. People on the East Coast are facing new cases and travel restrictions.

Over the weekend, we’ve seen Ontario, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Alberta all report new single-day highs of COVID-19.

The cases across the country and around the world are spiking massively. And we know what we have to do. We are facing a winter that’s going to drive people inside more and more.

Hello everyone. A few days ago, I got a letter from Jonathon in Ontario. He wrote to me because he’s concerned that Canada is on track to end up like the UK or France, where they’re facing skyrocketing cases of COVID-19.
